The column-base connected a brace member shows easy prediction of an elastic limit of the anchor-bolt because of linear relationship between the base-plate rotation and the story-displacement of the braced frame. The restoring force characteristics of the slip-type exposed column-base show an elastic stiffness decreasing due to a gap between the base-plate and the foundation.
