Following advantages are obtained from usage of the wedge device. 1) No looseness at the column base occurs after anchor bolts yielding. 2) The column base can be designed as energy absorption damper in small earthquakes as well as huge ones. 3) The wedge device can be applicable for rehabilitation of conventional column bases because of easy installation in existing column bases. In this paper, the self-centering performance of the non-slip-type column base was examined by experiments on the column bases.
