First, we carried out the simulation of seismic ground motion on the basis of the non-stationary process model characterized by not only evolutionary spectrum but also non-stationary phase. Second, nonlinear responses of the three span steel girder bridge with two reinforced concrete piers under simulated earthquakes were analyzed by use of general purpose computer program TDAP III. Third, the influence of uncertainty about both concrete strength and yield strength of reinforcement on responses of piers was quantitatively cleared. Finally, reliability indices of the bridge subjected to an assumed strong earthquake ground motion were evaluated by using the second moment method.
