The laminar flow over a backward facing step in the two-dimensional channel was visualized by the dye and aluminume dust methods. It was seen that the flow did not separate at the point of step convex corner, but it separated at the point of below the step convex corner. The experimental results showed a good agreement with the results of numerical solution for the length of recirculation zone, the position of vortex center and the separation point of flow. For the performance of experimental apparatus, a brief consideration was made with the results of visualization on the flow in the two-dimensional channel with a backward facing step. |
