| 内容記述 | In the field of picture transmission and display, bi-level display devices which permit the digital signal to be operated directly have been investigated very actively. An AC plasma display, a Liquid Crystal Display Panel, etc., have been developed as bi-level display devices. In these the display cells are either fully energized (ON) or fully de-energized (OFF). Displaying a gray scale with dither method attains a practical level in a bi-level display. Recently applications to a multi-level display are conceived. In this paper, the author proposes a new technique, the Emphasis of Half-Tone (EHT for short), which enables the quality of the gray scale pictures to develop by using the bi-level and multi-level dither method. And the author did the subjective evaluation in three ways which are rank analysis, paired comparison, and the SD method. Then the author applied EHT method to the color display. As a result of the experiment, higher quality pictures were obtained compared with conventional dither pictures. The purpose of this research is to reduce transmission cost and memory capacity, and to simplify display equipment without reducing picture quality | |||||||||||
