Urban problems contain so many aspects that they are not easily solved. This study is to report an attempt to use analysis of LANDSA T MSS data in developing a standard for evaluating urban environment in the ten cities specially designated by government ordinance as Metropolitan Areas. The first step is to analyze a 10 kilometer square area centering on the municipal office in each city. The second step is the comparing of results of analysis on each city，concluding with some graphs of the characteristics found by comparing data involved in the 10 cities. As the result of this study，it is found that the Hiroshima city area ranks high with respect to the ratio of green area to population in the prescribed area.
