| 内容記述 | Older adults living in three central urban districts and three mountainous districts of Takehara City wore wristwatch-type GPS loggers to record their movements for two weeks. This study analyzes lifestyle patterns, transportation methods, topography, and sidewalk coverage across regions and examines their relationships with the prevalence of dementia. It also investigates factors contributing to low walking rates and discusses transportation options used by older adults after surrendering their driver’s licenses.In Takehara City, no relationship was found between the rate of sidewalk development and dementia. Dementia was more common among people who spent a lot of time at home, and a relationship was confirmed with the number of times people went out. The findings indicate a need for sidewalks that connect residential areas to local hubs and shopping districts. In particular, after older adults surrender their driver’s licenses, access to essential facilities within walking distance becomes increasingly important. |
