L-systems have long been used to generate computer graphics of trees, and much research has been conducted to generate music based on L-systems．That is, L-system generates sequences of symbols, symbols are interpreted as musical data or x-y coordinates of tree shapes and are interpreted as musical data such as pitches of notes．We developed an intuitively understandable method to map from the face of growth to musical data．Then we created the movies of trees with music.
In order to check whether it is possible to generate various types of music we generated some movies with di_erent musical instruments and tempos．We had participants appreciate the movies and veri_ed that they satis_ed a relationship between the movies and their situations of use. |
