          <dc:description>The induction motor with solid iron rotor has some favorable properties that are lacking in conventional motors，for example this motor exhibits the peak torque at starting point and speed control by varying the stator voltage is possible with this motor. However，because of the larger copper loss caused by being designed with a high resistance rotor，the efficiency and the power factor are lower than those of conventional motors. To attain improvement of the efficiency and the power factor，the authors have been making research for optimum rotor material and rotor structure in this motor. The results of some tests made on an experimental solid iron rotor motor are discussed in this paper. Metal manufactured by a method of sinterring a correctly mixed powder of iron and copper and other components is used for the material in the rotor of the experimental machine.</dc:description>
