          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">A non-compression brace developed by authors has useful mechanism resisting only tensile axial force by function of wedge-device. Z-type non-compression braced plane frames show one-directional horizontal deformation characteristics. Anti-symmetric Z-type non-compression braced space frames consisting of the non-compression-braces arranged in a same rotational direction possess high-level seismic capability and high degree of freedom of brace arrangement in seismic design. This paper shows fundamental characteristics of the anti-symmetric Z-type braced frame by use of the shaking table tests and numerical analyses.</datacite:description>
