          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">With regard to the transfer function of digital filter，some approximation methods in frequency domain have been developed. The approximation method described in this paper is the way that provides the fundamental function into both the numerator and the denominator of magnitude-squared transfer function and expands the fundamental function in Fourier-series，in order to realize a small ripple at the pass band. Moreover，the fundamental function which has a fairly rapid convergence of Fourierseries expansion is also represented. Examples of low pass filters designed by this approximation method are shown.</datacite:description>
