          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">The cruciform specimens with the box column-to-H shaped beam connection of various panel strength ratios were carried out under monotonic or cyclic loading, and the plastic panel moments of the beam-to-column connections were estimated by the hinge line theory. The following conclusion were obtained. 1) The plastic panel moments of the panel boundary elements of the cruciform specimens without joint panel can be evaluated by the hinge line theory. 2 ) The restoring force characteristics of the beam-to-column connections under monotonic loading are predicted by adding the characteristics of the joint panel and the panel boundary elements. 3) The restoring force characteristics of the beam-to-column connections under cyclic loading are predicted by applying the kinematic hardening rule to the characteristics under monotonic loading.</datacite:description>
